Hi Carlos, I am riding to Lisbon on my Ducati in August. I have been there before and it is a wonderful city with lots of photographic opportunities.
They say the 16-45 is a great replacement for the kit lense.

I'll be on vacations in Algarve (the warm south) in August. But you'll enjoy Lisbon by that time because it will be a quiet city, with much less traffic, and you have several beaches nearby as well.
As for the lens, I think I'm more into the DA 17-70 f/4 SDM because I have the 18-55 kit lens and the Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 (that I'm not very fond of). With the 17-75 I would replace those two.
Anyone of you have experience with this lens?

What area of Lisbon are you from? I know the city reasonably well.

I'm glad to that I'm the first portuguese in the house! Maybe in the future this will bring me some kind of recognition!
I'm not exactly from the city of Lisbon but from the surroundings. I live near the town of Cascais, about 18 Km from Lisbom. But I know the capital very well as I was born there and allways worked there.
I'm sure you all are a nice bunch of friendly people. It's starting to show already!
