I'm sure you could hardly see that well disguised little creature without a macro lens! Great close-up work. It looks like there's flash (although I know sometimes reflections can spill over) ... If so, could you tell us how the flash is set up (on or off camera, special macro or just the lowered flash head position) . Thanks

Thanks nigel> flash was used, it's the pentax af 160fc ring flash,often find it needs more diffusing, had it set on -1 for this , not really enough scope with this flash unit but it mostly works for me.

Thanks for letting me know ...I saw the Sigma equivalent ring flash advertised here a while ago and was tempted. But really I'm just not enough of a macro person to justify it. But its worked well here Don.

Excellent - and even tho' flash was used, for handheld, managed not to wobble back and forth too much so that the important bit (the head etc) is in focus! Was that a green aphid being gobbled in front of her?

Thanks all, the meal was a very small hopper thingy, you can see it's eye in the first shot.
