GR3X

I've just bought a GR3X as a pocketable companion to my K-70. So far we're getting on fine and I thought I'd share our first day out! All shot in RAW and PP in LR Classic.

1 Gymkhana on the beach

2 The Motte - or Moat - which has a Camera Obscura inside. It's a 19th century gunpowder store on a 12th century moat.

3 Donaghadee in bloom!

From the garden, shot after dark in macro mode with a LED light attached to the hot shoe.

Excellent selection that makes the camera look as good as the photographer ! The red dahlia is a stunner.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Looks good. The X variant is certainly the one I'd go for over the standard model if I were to go for a GR III.

Lovely set, especially the tower.

I have often thought about one of these cameras as alternative to the K-1 or iphone.

Super selection and as Peter said, the tower is especially good, but the others show the capabilities of the camera and photographer too

I don't think I could justify (to myself) the X, the earlier GRIII is a similarly good performer but obviously with a different angle of view.

They're both excellent cameras. The X is a bit more of a situational type of camera so it's very annoying to have to choose between the two. It means I take both and lose the motivation to keep switching - weak willed
All the gear with no idea

'Weak willed' comment from HarisF1 - made me laugh out loud. Immediate thought - yep, that's me as well.
Be well, stay safe.

Thanks for your comments. In common with all screen viewers it's difficult to see what your taking in bright light. What about a viewfinder on the hotshoe? Any of you guys got one? I was looking at a Youtube video where the presenter made one from a single-use camera, it worked for him, but is it any good without a dioptre adjustment for differing eyesights?

I have an optical viewfinder for the GRiii. It was included with my street edition and can assist framing in certain situations (when the screen is washed out) I generally do not use it apart from family shots where usually folks don't mind too much if you are in their face with a camera!!
