Good Lens Comparison Website

very interesting but no surprises that the distagons are easily best.
The 85/1.4 Planar versus the Sigma 85/1.4 on the same (EOS 1DsIII) body is interesting - the Sigma looks somewhat sharper to me.
The Zeiss is not the easiest lens to use and takes a little getting used to. It is similar in behaviour to the 50/1.5 Sonnar. There is no floating element so there is a slight focus shift as you stop down. Many reviews do not compensate for this.
Once you get used to it, it gives fantastic IQ and the bokeh and colour rendition are much better than the Sigma in my opinion.

Be careful with some of the comparisons - the 100% crop can vary considerably in what it shows depending on the frame size.

Amazed! link
Mouseover to toggle between the two lenses.
Make sure the two cameras are the same.
Sadly no Pentax lenses, but Sigma and Tamaron.
Look at the Sigma/Tamron 28-70/75mm's The Tamron
looks miles ahead especially at f/2.8
No looking at the Zeiss stuff... especially if you've just
spent a lot of money!
Pentax K-1 + K-5 and some other stuff
