Thanks Peter, I didnt wish to over flash the lass, just balance the shot with the available natural light and also use the flash to freeze the movement.

I'm interested in more info on the HSS set up. Mainly in what you have used to trigger the flash..?

I used a cactus v6ii as the trigger / receiver linked to a cactus flash RF60 flash which has its own built in receiver, I do have another V6ii cactus trigger / receiver which I sometimes use with a Metz flash and they work perfectly.

Thanks Chris, I thought this Just after I had typed my entry. As you know I'm more of a manual strobe man... But have been very tempted by the more portable TTL system.

IMHO....... this is better than TTL when you understsnd the concept, which is pretty easy,
I'd be happy to meet and demo with you, its cost effective as well, plus gives you loads of creative options, just by moving the flash a few feet back or forward.

Must admit when I saw this the other day (daylight) I also thought it needed better lighting so didn't bother posting a comment. Seeing it tonight in a well lit room it looks totally different and the lighting is spot on.
Even viewing pictures at different times of the day makes such a difference.

If I remember correctly, with any Pentax camera HSS is a P-TTL only mode, but you can use flash comp.
