Geographic Location

Whilst I appreciate that many like to preserve their anonymity, I think that it is both helpful and interesting if members give some idea of their geographical location on the globe when registering and those who have registered in the past but have left out this information are encouraged to edit their profiles.

In particular advice about "where can I buy a........" or "who can repair a........" can only really be provided if location is known.

There was a particularly good example of someone who registered and asked for advice on buying furniture online

John R. (I assume) quickly deleted the post but not before Clarky had provided a 'tongue in cheek' reply directing the person how to find a furniture shop in Sydney

This is of course not a general purpose forum, but very often the advice given on photographic matters is tempered by knowing approximately where someone lives.

You're right of course, it is useful to have at least an approximate location. Some members give the detail, some don't, but it is optional so we'll never have 100%
Best regards, John
