Have a look through Classifieds for pics of one.
The latest just say "PENTAX" at the top and "JAPAN" at the bottom.

Yes - there is a spring on the side which engages in the camera body, which usually means that the bayonet fixing is locked. The outcome of this is the M42 lens needs to be unscrewed then the spring unlatched with the metal plate key.
Simply remove the spring and throw away the plate and the bayonet fixing is on/off - but beware there is NO latch
regards
Bernard

There is no metal plate key with a Pentax adapter.

I've one of these (only have a 135mm petri lense which I never use) and I have to screw the lens off and then with a small screw driver get the adapter off.
Wondering if I'm not using it correctly or somethings up with it

With the Pentax Adapter K, first screw the adapter onto the back of the lens. Then bayonet the lens into place on the camera. Sunsequently, you than then mount and dismount screw thread lenses as required. In essence, you have converted the K bayonet body into a screw thread body.
When you want to remove the adapter just operate the small catch with the tip of a ballpoint pen, or indeed a small screwdriver, and rotate the adapter. If you hold the camera throat downwards the adapter should fall off into your hand.
Hope that helps!
