Had a real storm and as the sun came out, went upto the loft hoping for a rainbow, as I waited these geese flew over, never got the rainbow though.

No but you found the pot of gold - what a beautiful picture.

I love the silhouette of the birds against the clouds, the orange glow in the distance .......... well I love the whole thing actually so I'll shut up now.

You didn't get what you were looking for but your patience paid off - great photo. I'm in a ground floor flat - would love to be higher up - but I did catch some shots of a Green Woodpecker today on the front lawns - presumably eating ants!

Cheers

John

I think this is a fantastic shot snappychappy. Even without the geese you have caught a fantastic 'Independence Day invasion' sky. The geese look great in silhouette. Not usually a fan of framing but this also seems to suit.

I recently had a PM from somebody urging me to return from exile and supply a bit of trenchant pictorial criticism.

He said: "There is so much s*** in the gallery, but some people are saying it is, 'wonderful', 'amazing', fantastic', it makes me want to puke !!!"

Sadly, in this instance, I am unable to oblige. This is an excellent picture, and one that deserves unstinting praise.

Well done, Snappy.

Great shot, well timed.

I bet you have cancelled this sale now.

"For Sale: Golden Retriever, had for 9 months, has yet to retrieve gold. Should have just bought metal detector".

Take care.

That is a superb picture, the right moment expertly captured. It would be perfect if the distortion evident in the slant of the chimney pots could be corrected. While it makes little difference at this size, this is definitely one for the wall.

Hear, hear George +1, I'm all for forthrightness.

Thank you gentlemen for the comments, it's a shame about the distortion but the sigma at 10mm does introduce a tad of leaning in buildings.

Really was a lucky shot, but the setting sun lighting the clouds and the remnants of the storm clouds came together at just the right time.
