[/quote]Now you see - that sort of comment really has not endeared you to me at all - if you wanted to auction the gear you should have put it on ebay. If the prices you ask for are subject to nobody offering you a higher price - I for one shall not be wasting my time.

Thanks for the heads up Andy
No matter how many lenses I have owned - I have always needed just one more

The lad seems Ok, I have had a pleasant easy transaction with him with no worries at all. The item I received was better than his description so I'm happy to deal with him again
As we all know he's new to the selling on the forum thing. He's just trying to raise some cash is all. Now if what can be gleaned from this thread is correct, that someone gazumped another forum member, is true, though not cricket, isn't against the unwritten rules is it? I wouldn't do it myself but each to their own.
One day you'll find, 10yrs have got behind you.

It's not against any rules. In my book a deal is a deal. I don't like people whose word means nothing. They belong on ebay, not here.

Actually its basic contract law.

Seller offers an item for sale
Potential buyer makes a counter offer
Seller accepts offer, contract is formed.

If either party then pulls out for whatever reason then a breach of contract has occurred.

I am not a lawyer, but did study contract law as part of my business degree

You are probably quite right, although it is probably also completely unenforcable. I just regard it as common decency. Every last penny isn't what life should be about.

And, plus that, I don't expect the breaker of that agreement to insult the other party. Especially, if they have any sense at all, if they expect any goodwill from future buyers!
