I did wonder if they were to put a rope or something through, just seemed a bit odd to me - I'd be more inclined to fit the D rings that they fit to the pouches instead as that way you could put a shoulder strap on the cases.

Not the right loops but something like this is what I meant.
Comment Image

When you use these carbiners through the loops with the longer holes they are more stable (stay upright).
With that I mean they will more likely stay in one position.

That's mine idea, don't know if that's what Lowe thought about using them for
They could just as easily be a pen holder

I thought they were just something to hold on to when you undo the zip?

Sorry Photomonk but it isn't solved yet, this is a SlipLock™ attachment loops from what i understand:

The SlipLock™ System - Many different bags and packs are compatible with SlipLock™ add-ons (a wide variety of pouches). A reinforced attachment tab slides into any SlipLock™ loop and fastens securely. Attach SlipLock™ add-ons to your own belt or other SlipLock™ base products. Look for the "SlipLock™ System" logo throughout this brochure.

Looks a bit bigger then a small loop where you can just put your finger in or are we talking about different things?

Here the long black strap with velcro is the Sliplock system what we are talking about I believe are the two small loops you see at the top at the back right, behind the zipper?

K.

Could very well be.

ps. the one Mike is selling is of the same design I believe, very handy if you've a lowpro bag with sliplock loops for it.

No, Stefan it's not. Maybe if you go back and reread what has been posted you might have an idea of what was asked.

I did Photomonk

or am I reading it wrong?

These are excellent - will hold two short primes (anything 55mm or shorter should be ok).

One thing I've never been able to figure out with the Lowepro lens cases - what are the webbing loops sewn into the fabric at the ends of the zip for?

technoidiot wrote:
Hooray I've been wondering that - and they are also on my small EX 160 Bag and on the bottom of my Micro Trekker 100 back pack - all are where zips finish/start.

Any ideas anyone ?

My Stealth Reporter D100AW has the loops too, they're just about big enough to get a little finger into on that but I doubt that was the intended use.

Yes, you are.

First clue:

Second clue:

What you are describing is not located on all Lowepro bags and cases.

Sorry Photomonk I can't agree.
The sliplock are not placed at the ends of the zip also I haven't read someone saying all lowepro bags and cases have it so please show me the comment who said that?
Since Matt is talking about Lowepro lens cases & his Stealth Reporter D100AW.
Technoidiot is talking about her small EX 160 Bag & Micro Trekker 100 back pack.

This is what I said.

In short:
- a small loop where you can just put your finger in
- two small loops you see at the top at the back right, behind the zipper
I've seen nothing yet that disprove what I've said or aren't they talking about a little loop where you can just put your finger in at the ends of the zip?

I am a bit confused Photomonk as the two quotes you cite clearly indicate that Stefan is correct in stating we are discussing the little fabric bits at the ends of the zips, not the more substantial "sliplock system" linked to by yourself.

I hold to my view that they are for holding onto when undoing/doing up the zips.

Best wishes, Kris.

OK - taking my head in my hands here

I got a bit muddled reading this thread this morning - so grabbed the Optio , opened the door to my 'sun lounge ' and grabbed these pics .

The Micro Trekker has 2 loops on each end of the zip - which I think are clearly shown here. It also has 2 'straps' where the plastic buckle ends for the waist strap can be stored.

I think these pics show the loops we are talking about - at the ends of the zips .

The light was rather fierce when I took these and I was working quickly between sneezes [ worthy of Sneezy they are ] and coughs and splutters - NOT my best photos I know.

OH the lens case I attached with the SlipLock is the lens case that Mike-P was selling

I'm actually surprised what you can get in that Micro Trekker with a little thought. I have one for my every day kit and get the K10D body with grip, SIgma 70-200mm f2.8, Sigma 24-60mm f2.8, Pentax AF-200T, FA 50mm f1.7, Sigma 1.4x TC and macro tube in the main part .. and the 2 sliplocks on the side allow a couple of other lenses if needbe.

Good Grief !!

I thought I was doing well with my K-x with the 18-55 on , the 50-200 , holder for memory cards 2 cases of spare batteries [ one set for the flash ] the Metz48 AF-1 the case for my Filters , lens stuff and of course all the odd cables . card readers etc etc. I found it surprising what you could fit into its front pocket - that seems to be enormously deceptive.
