From the armpit of Africa

Greetings from a hot and sticky Yaoundé. I just wanted to say a big thanks for all the great tips and advice on this forum - it has been a huge help being so far away from WH Smiths et al. I purchased a *ist DS with the Pentax 18-55 lens last year after having been away from 'proper' photography for a while and I'm so pleased with the results - except for the built in flash. After having trawled through numerous posts I'm more or less decided on the AF-360FGZ - I just have to choose the right moment to say 'Darling, I really think that . . . . '! Hopefully I can persuade one of our American friends to hand carry it back here which is what I did with the camera. Buying from B&H Photo saved me a couple of hundred quid and I was able to use the 'it's a bargain' ruse on my dearly beloved - Oh and buying her an Ixus 40 - again for about half the price of the same thing in the UK. Thanks again - Tikala Malamu (stay well)
