Hi Louise,

welcome,

You will be amazed with how much more you can do with the KR. Your ISO issue will go away (re your other post)

Hello I am a bit dubious about this model, trying to save up for the Kr.

I use an X90 for all my eBay pictures - it makes an ideal camera for that. It's also got many possibilities as a general purpose camera, but isn't as fast or easy to use in the field as a DSLR such as the K-r.

Is there anyway I can speed the shutter speed up please?

In Tv you use the rear wheel to increase the shutter speed. In Av you open up the aperture and the shutter speed will increase to compensate.

If there isn't enough light the only other option is to increase the ISO value.

It's all depending upon circumstances. The speeds are recoprocals, so 1000 means 1/1000 second. The bigger the number the faster the speed. Speeds longer than 1/2 second are usually marked 1", 2", 4" etc. and this represents full seconds.

You will generally need a faster shutter speed as you zoom in, becasue the magnification exagerates camera shake.
Best regards, John

Welcome Louise. I've just re-joined (so to speak), and can say it's a great forum to be part of. I've just 'downgraded' toa Kr and am extremely impressed by it. It's a worthy purchase, trust me. Great noise control and an excellent sensor it would seem, and a very good kit lens (best kit lens of any make).

no doubt, youre enjoying the dreary weather in wiltshire.
