Frame and sign a picture

I would like to add to my photos a frame, bevel or just a border, with a personalized signature and perhaps name of the place where the photo was taken. Is there a way to do this in Silkypix or in Pentax software? Or should I look for another program? So far I haven't had much success but I've seen some nice signatures & frames.

Nope. SilkyPix (and the Pentax software) is an EXCELLENT RAW converter, the Pentax version being a bit more limited and IMHO more difficult to use. But they are just that -- thus SilkyPix excels at what it does.

If you want to do extra special processing you'll need to use another third party piece of software.

I know there are programs dedicated to adding frame borders, but something like photoShop (expensive), or PainShopPro (relatively inexpensive), or GIMP (free) will give you the capability to do these and even script them up to be repeatable. (not sure of GIMP's feature set but I assume it has some form of actions)

Photoshop Elements will do what you want, for a fraction of the price of the full Photoshop suite. Another good freebie is Photofiltre, though I don't know if that can do what you want.

Thanks for your advices. I tried GIMP with a special script but it does not fulfill my expectations - and it was not able to do a batch conversion either. So I'll look further, try Elements and Photofiltre.

Well I understood the reference
In the film the Marshall amplifier goes to 11 on the volume knob instead of the usual 10 - having watched it my guitar playing, technically minded son adapted his Marshall to go to 11 too. Not that he ever got to play it higher than about 3 when he lived at home

Just read that PSE7 has been announced with even more goodies available. Not sure I'll upgrade yet though - Adobe want ridiculous money for an upgrade I see.
