I like the original and Prieni's edit, but your edit of Prieni's edit I think is the best of the 3

I meant, there are five trees, not there should be. I'll go back and plant one. If someone could get their future grandchildren to go and take the photo I'd be grateful...

For cleanliness sake I might be tempted to go back and re-shoot it from a position further to the right, so the second tree along (the small one!) is hidden behind the third tree (the big one). Obviously that might not be possible, but if it is, I think it might make the picture even more simple and eyecatching. Perhaps you could shoot from a slightly lower angle too, to rid the horizon of the distant treetops? Of course, all that might make it look too sterile.
Of the edits, I like your last one best, doesn't look as 'heavy' as Prieni's.

Just to say thanks to Prieni for his tip. The photo has just made it as my fourth acceptance to the PPG.

It is an illusion that photos are made with the camera they are made with the eye, heart and head. Henri Cartier-Bresson
Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.
