Nice set, and a landscape I'd be happy to spend some time in. I'm partial to #1, for the way it promises there's more to be seen after the next couple of turns...
Interesting to see the difference in rendering of the two lenses, the 50 seems to give a somewhat sentimental, warmer look than the 20 - something more matter-of-fact with the latter. Both are fine to look at (I would probably spend more time in contemplation of the 50 shots, for the rêverie), thanks to the photographer.

That last one is a great shot John.
Glad you are gettig the chance to get out with your stellar lens. I am having a very frustrating time finding the windows of oportunity at the moment.

The first one in particular has an impressive spatial depth and clarity, and a quality that comes through from the lens. Landscapes are not the most obvious natural habitat for that focal length .... now I want to see Pentax come up with a 20mm D FA*!

Thanks for the comments Guys - The D-FA*50 may not seem like a natural choice of Landscape lens but its' qualities are so deep it can be used for virtually everything!
Couldn't agree more Nigel - a D-FA* 20mm f2.8 as compact as the FA version would be very welcome. When it comes to deciding whether to take the FA20 or the D-FA15-30 - the other lenses in the bag and the length of the walk often make me lean towards the FA20!
I live next to Malvern Hills yet I've hardly been on them this year, but this little jaunt has reminded me I should do it more. The lighting can change within minutes so the images can be quite varied on a single trip. Phill and Chris, you've been up there a few times so you'll know what I mean

Yes, for a 20mm they shouldn't try to go bigger than F.2.8, I think. And certainly not as large and heavy as the 50mm (which I guess an F2.8 naturally would not be). As you say, it needs to be an alternative choice to the 15-30, and so should be designed with carrying up into the hills in mind.
