Been messing with this photo of a local fountain, I'm not 100% happy with it but can't work out why. Any thoughts?

Very nice textures but maybe you're not completely happy because the image consists of two entirely different halves that could really be separate images altogether.

JR is right.

Discard the lion on the left.

I agree about losing lion on the left but then the crop on the remaining lion is very tight at the top and right edge. There is also that area of brickwork which I suspect is part of the cause of the disatisfaction anyway.

That's it! It's the brickwork. I accept the comments about the 2 lions seemingly being 2 pictures but I kinda liked that - the first one draws the eye to the second or at least the second is more dominant and the eye is drawn to it. Might have to re-shoot...

Just been on a US forum - there they spell it yeuk - two syllables I believe -I was corrected on spelling it yuk there. Seems I can't win
No Cottonwool doesn't jeuk but it can make you sneeze.
Doesn't make fluffy water any better as far as I'm concerned.

The US is still a wealthy nation, they can afford to use the extra letter.

This is three images in one, a lion of the left, one on the right and some manky bricks

This topic just goes to show how opinions vary, Yes, the image needs cropping, but its the Lion on the right that needs to go, add a bit more sparkle to the "YEUK" cotton wool water using the add sparkle tool in photoshop (I'm sure it'll have one somewhere) and the jobs a good un!

Oh and Gwyn, theres nothing wrong with YEUKY water

I would agree with Rob.

The RH lion just looks as though it has an old garden hose stuck in its mouth and a long exposure might help to reduce that effect.

You mean something like this, Spider?
(Sorry, Spaceraider. I'll delete it immediately if you want me to.)
Just thought Spider had a point, maybe.
