Sounds like an interesting read. One of my favourite photography "how to" books is "Architectural Photography" from the 1930s. Fascinating stuff and wonderfully sniffy about the new miniature format, i.e., 35mm.

Peterson's published some really good photo books and magazines. Without doubt my favourite publisher. A good example is this one on Wedding Photography (found on a Google search I already have the book).

I was thinking recently that someone should write a similar book now, bearing in mind MF film equipment is so plentiful and (comparatively) cheap these days. There are a lot of people out there who've only ever used digital cameras and who would be amazed at the quality you can get from 120 film.
There have been several books along the lines of an-introduction-to-digital-for-film-photographers, it'd be great to see just one that reversed this. Any writers/publishers reading..?

I have an old book on MF written by Michael Freeman. It's quite informative and has excellent descriptions of many systems that were available back in the day.

I have 'Medium Format Photography' by Lief Ericksenn from '91 (AMPHOTO). Covers pretty much everything from TLRs onwards and has some good photos of NASA launches in it.
Most of these books are still relevant, and apart from the latter AF film cameras, still up to date. Now we have the web, thousands of forums and social media pages - all peddling somebody's ideas/agendas and most of it is worthless.
