Forum name, Change?

With the recent announcement from Ricoh regarding the rebranding of Pentax under the umbrella of Ricoh. Although they have changed the name the Pentax brand will live on, but will this forums name change to reflect the inclusion of Ricoh products and cameras.

If it does change, what to................? Suggestions anyone.

No need for any name change IMHO.

There already is a Ricoh Forum in existence.

This is still Pentax User and the policy remains unchanged.

What may happen in the future is just speculation.

Personally I don't think it should change either.

Yes I have a Ricoh Kr10 35mm film body. Haven't used it for years. Seeing as it is Ricoh I didn't list it with my other cameras.

35 years ago when i was selling beautiful Pentaxes as fast as we could get stock we had a few odd looking cameras called Ricoh in the display cabinet. Never sold many.

My wife had the beautifully crafted R8 but never got good pics out of it, terrible menus and fiddly controls. She now has a little Pentax Optio RZ10 and loves it (as long as she sticks to base ISO as with all tiny sensors) To look at them you'd think the Ricoh a better camera BUT results matter most don't they?

Let's hope we see the best of both makes in future product. I talk to a lot of people who remember and respect the Pentax name. Most lay persons don't seem to have heard of Ricoh!

I hope it remains Pentax User.

I would also like it to remain for Pentax cameras only, at least until it is very clear what Ricoh's intentions are.

I hope Ricoh see the value in the Pentax name and will keep using it, not change it to Pentax-Ricoh or just Ricoh on cameras.


I wonder if Sony would have been better off keeping Konica-Minolta (or maybe one or the other) for their DSLRs.

Well, as the new company is called Pentax Ricoh Imaging Company, what does that make us?

Ricoh have already changed Pentax's name. As from 1st Oct.
