Stefan i really like them all but number 2 and 4 are awsome and give a real good feeling of going like the clappers, if its possible in a Suzuki Swift

Well done, Stefan. You seem to have a good grip on panning technique, especially #2 and #4.
Best regards

Stefan,
my experience of this is quite limited (though the Macau GP 2007 was an excellent first opportunity).
#1 looks a bit too static, #2 is the best of the crop IMHO. #4 is nearly as good but the slight tilt gives #2 a more dynamic feel.
Can't get my head around #3, it's nice to have only the one car sharp but the other cars have an unpleasant kind of 'unsharpness' to them. Was that also result of panning?
Of course I'm delighted to see a German driver in the Formula 3 car
I think you have done very well and I bet you had a lot of fun.

Thank you all for your kind comments, Didn't do it too bad it seems and these where the first shots and with a quick look they became better so hang on for some time till i get those ready.
Priene, I believe with the 3th shot it was the panning the cars in the background comes towards you but you need to move to the side to track the orange car and the blue car moves faster sideways.
I'm not really to fond of it myself that photo but it shows how precise you need to be with it. I thought it was simpler but it's really hard to get it sharp.
Of the 6 photos only 1 is sharp, I made 324 photos that day so I've some good ones.

Thank you guys! not bad for a first time right
I'm getting really interested in this kind of photography, i want to do more with it. What are the big names in the autosport photography, just want to see how the shots of the pro's look like.
Mike we have the TT of Assen here, it's just very busy then so don't think I'll go there.
The Formula 3 was not super busy it was cosy so to say, you had enough room to stand were you want but you werent the only one. Felt a bit out of place between the white lenses sometimes.

Great shots, Stefan!
I think you don't need to make them as straight as possible, on the contrary, the diagonal does give a more dynamic feel.
I just had a look through my tally from the Macau GP and yours are much better. I was sitting at a corner, good for watching some action as the cars are (relatively) slow but the space was tight.
Here is one of them:

I hope you don't mind me posting in your thread.
The angle is less favourable than in your shots. There is a little bit of speed felt by the blur in the wheels but no comparison to the speed in your pics.

Looks great, Prieni.
Very sharp.
I was shooting at two reasonable fast corners and I liked the look when they came towards me, back ends aren't that exciting but I do have some and not only cars.
Is anyone going to Silverstone this weekend?

My first time trying to photograph a race and I must say I really enjoyed myself.
This mostly of the Suzuki Swift Cup before the big event so that gave me some time to practice.
Please I really want your comment on these since they surely aren't perfect and since this my first time ever hint and tip is very welcome!
All taken with K10D + DA*50-135 at f/8, shutterspeed varies because the formula 3 car was quite a bit faster.
So are these decent for the first time doing this?
