Thanks Vikram! At 12mm you have to think completely differently! It's a good idea to do a little project - take just the 12-24 and shoot only at 12mm. Things to try:
* Vary your height from the ground - this has a big impact. Try getting really low down, and higher up
* Change the angle - try looking slightly down and slightly up to see how that affects image
* Go really close
One trick to a good composition (and it's quite tricky at 12mm) is to get some good foreground interest and a way of leading into the frame. That's when you'll need to try all kinds of different positions to get everything just right.
It's really an art... and TBH one that I've only scratched the surface (it's much easier shooting at 18mm!) and that I'm not 100% happy with. So persevere!!

Vikram - NOOOOOO!. They are all telling you lies. The lens is at best average, and the sooner you are rid of it the better.

I would like to get a filter for this DA 12-24 for protection while out and about.I would appreciate if you have any suggestions for filter ( UV ) on pentax 12-24 or if you using sigma 10-20 mm as filter size would be same- 77mm.
cheers
