Trouble is, I would need two gold LX bodies, one for each lens... lol...

Seem a lot to ask for a couple of Cosina manufactured zooms of merely above (?) average quality, even if they are gold-plated and come in a wooden presentation box Have to admire, albeit grudgingly, however, the seller's chutzpah.

I thought the original price was surprisingly reasonable for a collectors item like these. The ebay price is a bit silly. Personally, I'd rather spend my cash on lenses I'd actually use. K.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

There are lots of silly priced ebay "rare" items - I suppose there's always the chance that someone has been looking for that exact thing and is willing to pay for it. But I'm very much in your camp Kris - lenses to use I thought the original price was surprisingly reasonable for a collectors item like these. The ebay price is a bit silly. I've been through the collectors stage and had the benefit of trying some rare, expensive and cheap lenses - I now have a core set that get used fairly regularly, with only about 20 or so lenses still to part with

But, but , but ... all my lenses are useful and beautiful. It's just that some lenses get used more than others.Be guided by what William Morris would have said if he had been a photographer: "Have no lens in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful."
