Focus point LED's

My left-of-centre focus point LED has stopped working. The focus point itself still works, in so far as the camera will still focus with that point selected, and the green hex lights up when focus has been confirmed by the camera.

I have given the camera a clean as far as I can without taking it apart, to try to eliminate any dirt issues. But as far as I can work out, the LED's are behind the pentaprism, mounted underneath where the built-in flash unit sits?

Anyone had this problem, and any ideas?

Dont think theres much you can do yourself, looks like a visit to the camera shop, personaly its an issue I could live with, it could be expensive to rectify.

My far right LED mostly refuses to light up but to be honest I just work round it as a fix will probably be more than the camera is worth now.

Yes, I can live with it - just hoping that there might be a 'fix'.

AFAIK LED's are generally reliable things, so I wondered if there could be dirt in there obstructing the LED (unlikely with the excellent sealing) or maybe a 'dry' ribbon cable connection or solder joint. As the camera goes in and out doors frequently (especially in this cold weather) this could be a cause?

BTW, the LED didn't just stop working completely one day - it failed over a day or two, partly and dimly lit.
