Hi all

If any of you are going to Focus on imaging in Birmingham on Sunday the 25th Perhaps some of the forum users could meet for a coffee

Just a thought and a way to put faces to names

Hey, is it really that bad :

I have booked some time off to go on the Monday, with the better half. If any more of you say "don't bother", then I'll save my leave for something better.
Cheers

There is already a thread going for this topic.....

However to save you guys searching for It,

I will be going down on the Monday (26th) if only to see the PentaxUser stand. I have'nt been since 2004? when I came home with a shiny new istD, I thought it was a reasonable show then, dont know if its gone downhill since then or not. Soon find out anyway!

Hi,

I am going on the Sunday also..I live in Walsall, not so very far away.

Yes the NEC is a bit crap, but it is FAR better than anything London has to offer and the vast majority of the UK hate travelling to London due to the dreadful roads, awful roadusers and ignorant people who just shove past anyone in their way, which is my experience of London over the last 25 years. (A friend lived there)

This is in reality the biggest and best UK photo show of the year, so If you do want to check out any new, or even older gear then this is the place to go, in fact even more so now there are so few camera shops with so little stock inside them. I have been for the last three years and been surprised at the amount of used gear on sale.

cheers Steve.M.

Anyone for meeting on the Pentaxuser stand at 12.00? or 1.00?

If you want to see specific products at 'Focus' then be sure to look at the website before traveling,...more and more of the big names are rightly giving 'Focus' the elbow.....

Also check the website of NEC to find out how many other shows are going to be on at the same time,......the last and final time that I went there were 6 shows all happening at the same time. This meant a 2 hour queue just to get into the NEC carpark..!! Local radio reported that the delays were due to "...10,000 cars in 20 queues..." all trying to get in.....

The UK deserves a decent photo show in a good venue,....the sooner 'Focus' falls over the better.

Hi,

The list of people attending is interesting..

Canon..NO (same as last year..no great loss)
Pentax..NO (if thay want to break the DSLR market and when they have such a good product as the K10D this is a HUGE mistake)
Sony/Minolta...NO (ditto Pentax)
Olympus..NO
Alpa...YES
Gandolfi...YES
Contax...YES (seriously..they are showing on the list..should be interesting...an empty stand)

cheers Steve.
