Flickr premium ?

Does anyone here pay to have a premium account on Flickr ? If so, could you explain the benefits please ?

With a "pro" account you have no limit on uploading pictures.

I had one, for about two years. Benefits are the usual things, like unlimited uploads, no restriction on image size and possible use as on line storage. Two major things made me decide to move on. The very poor layout of the site in general. Not something I would be proud of, to show as a representation of my work. And all the unwanted invitations you get, to join groups, etc.....But of course, seen as a hosting site it has its benefits. Good resizing algorithms being the most important one.

Personally, I am rather fond of Zenfolio. Gives you all the good things of Flickr, without the irritating stuff. You pay a lot more ($100,- a year), but you get IMO the best package a hosting site can give you.It certainly comes as close to something you would like to be as your own website.
Image Quality, protection, layout etc....

Have a look at my website to see, what is possible.

We use www.jalbum.net. It is a Swedish company.
We have an account with them for 10GB, which costs €95 pa.
There is a free version, with ads and 30MB or medium version no ads, 1Gb for €19pa.

You download their software and make your own album using one of the many, many skins available then post it into your own space. You get a URL which looks like this http:// yourname.jalbum.net/.

We're very happy with it, especially as some skins allow geotagging and link to Google Earth.
