TITLES?

Most forums have a list of ranks, basically some fun names that change as people's post count increases.
This has been asked for for a long time because we just had Forum Veteran at 30 posts and that was it.
The new titles were created by me and the rest of the PU team in an ecxchange of messages that ended up with what we have now.
Over at another forum, high posters can reach the dizzy heights of Photographer and finally Iconic Photographer....I'm just plain old Admin over there.

Then you could have 'grumpier old snapper' and long for the accolade 'grumpiest old snappper'

Not sure I like being 'Venerable'. Wikipedia defines it as "The Venerable is the style used for a person who has been posthumously declared "heroic in virtue" during the investigation and process leading to possible canonization as a saint."
So I'm now posthumous am I??
At least I'm heroic in virtue!!
John - not yet posthumous.

Venerable is in the sense of extremely wise, and, of course, venerated (lauded above others)for that wisdom.
Don't listen to Wikipedia, whoever wrote that entry was not venerable enough.
Apologies to those who will now rush to their dictionaries again...

Mmm - I think I prefer your definition John. Yes - extremely wise etc sounds better than posthumous!
Cheers

You'll like this from Chambers's Dictionary then: worthy of reverence...honorific prefix.....[held in] awed respect.....
It just gets better!

You know, I don't think I can offhand. I didn't make a note when the process was worked out and the messages have gone.....
I can tell you that the ranks are placed at reasonable levels, so you don't need to make thousands of posts tom achieve the highest accolades!

Thanks John. I'm not serious about the rankings I'm only having a laugh, especially at me being a MASTER.
