my k10 can dial in 7.1, and any manual aperture lens can be set between 5.6 and 8...
soo, without knowing how to set your camera...
can I suggest this... move your key light a little closer till it rounds off to f8?
using the meter, to you meter each source sepertately? how?

You should be able to dial in 1/2 or 1/3rd stops if you have an auto aperture lens. If you are using a lens with manual aperture then it should still have half stops between each f number.

in a last resort your meter should allow you to change your iso and it should re-calculte the aperture values.. so changing your iso value (on your meter) intil it rounds the exposure off to a whole stop, then use those new iso and aperture values on your camera... the over all exposure will be the same, just using different iso and aperture combination...

The cameras set to manual , but i can only dial in full f stops . i appreciate i can move the lights /turn up or down but it would be easier just being able to dial in the displayed f stop from the flashmeter. maybe its just the k200 ? can you dial in half or third stops on the k10/20 in manual mode ?

Every cameraI have used that has M mode can dial in half or third stops for aperture. Shutter speed is an other matter though as old film cameras generally only had full stop shutter control.

You need to make some changes in your Custom Settings Menu.
Custom Setting 1 - EV Steps, change it to 2 - 1/3 stop.
Custom Setting 2 - Sensitivity Steps, try changing it (see page 89 of the .PDF manual).
You should be able to make exposure changes in steps from 1 EV to 1/3 EV by making these changes in your custom menu and using the appropriate eDial.
