I have a Mecablitz 36 AF-4P which I have tried to use on my K1 ii but it does not fire. I have changed the batteries, no luck. Does this flash work on a K1? It worked on my K5 and K3.
Thanks Any help will be appreciated.

Tried that, no good, even pressed the test button, no good , so I think the flash has given up the ghost. Thanks

Sounds like it then, presume you've double checked the batteries are loaded correctly, have you looked to see if the terminals in the flash are corroded ?

Have you fired the flash off camera to check if the flash itself is ok?

Most older Metz flashes needed a firmware update to work with the K-1 but they had to have a USB port to be able to programme it. I don't think the 36AF4 had the port?
No equipment list here but thanks for taking an interest. My Flickr

I think a trip to a Pentax dealer is required to get a compatible flash.
Thanks all.

Worth considering the Cactus RF60x and a Cactus V6ii trigger, lets you use the flash so normal and combined with the trigger full sync up to 1/8000 sec.

The flash would be about 130 and the triggers are around 60, the flash has a build in receiver so you only need a trigger for the camera when used on a stand

Might consider that but I don't use flash very often.
