I can't honestly say I've eaten fish n chips in Stafford. They may not even have such things there.

They are a well known traditional dish in many towns throughout the UK. Years ago, they would be served with actual newspaper under the grease proof paper but hygene standards required otherwise.

Some say, they should never be eaten without lashings of salt and vinegar.

I think I saw the original fish and chips picture which I'm guessing has prompted this post

Just wanted to chime in and say that fish and chips is the greatest fast food in the world. If I could eat it every day I would (but my wife won't let me)

I saw the shot in the gallery too, I thought it was cruel, especially as my wife has me on a healthy eating binge and I'd had a Salad for tea that evening:

And curry sauce, you can't forget that!!!

Perhaps not, but I should prefer to. Every mouthful shortens your life by six months.

Well that stired up a hornets nest. All I was trying to say is, "What on earth is a picture of fish and chips doing in the gallery." I know there deliciously tasty to eat but come on there's plenty more out there to take pictures of. Is the gallery turning into a dumping ground.

Hardly.....But the bold part(no pun intended) could open a can of worms.
But...."beauty" as always is in the eye of the beholder. What might be a good picture to one, could well be rubbish for another. And vise versa.

There has been a lot of discussion about the way the gallery is or should be used.
And until some clear regulations are visible for anyone who wants to submit, these discussions are likely to start off once and a while.
But.......If the poster thinks it belongs there, it is his provocative. TBH.....I have seen worst examples over there.
If he had sought specific C & C he would have posted in the my photo's section.
Just my two cents,

The gallery has turned into a genuine place for C&C now that they have enabled email notifications.
Now (as I've said twice) they need to make two such places - a gallery with a big notice saying 'Your best stuff - no C&C'
And a dumping ground just for C&C

To be honest, my original post at the top of this thread was purely tongue in cheek. Don't mind any C&C good or bad. I thought that the image was reasonably good considering the distance I shot it from. I fired off a lot of shots on the K7, basically to get a feel for the camera and it's performance. Can't exactly get in close to the old dear whilst she's enjoying her lunch.

As it happens, I'm pleased with the quality of the images the camera produces. I shoot enormous numbers of images whilst out and about, maybe this was one I should have kept?

Had the owl or the girl texting been eating fish n chips, would they have drawn comment?

Not aware of any previous issues with "best stuff" but that may raise issues as that's down to the poster to determine what is best.

To PentaxKid37, no harm done what so ever, I don't consider it to be a hornets nest.
