it's cold , windy , grey and not nice at all - but the new lens has been with me for over 24 hours , it was time it was tried.

With apologies for the actual composition - particularly in the first The head was where I wanted it , but the wind thought differently

The dwarf Rhododendron had exploded into colour while I was away

and finally - and I'll admit I don't like this one - I need to get used to this lens

Congratulations on the new baby. I am sure you'll grow to love her. Wee little thing, isn't she?

Best wishes, Kris.

She's minute and very very different from the kit lens .

I'm actually a bit scared of her - a lens of a very different class . Going to have to sharpen up my ideas and skills.

Boy, Techno, I'd love to have a play with that! I bet the image in the viewfinder is lovely and bright! Certainly your images are nice and sharp!

Regards,

Andrew
Best wishes,

Congratulations on your new lens! Lovely little thing.

It's on my wish list, but a replacement for the K20D comes first I think.

But you wont have to Sharpen up your images

Second shot is the best of the bunch if you crop it, just keep the centre daf and some room below it.

It's a fabulous lens just as folk said it was

I personally like #3 - the veining on the petals shows up well - they look sort of crumpled

Fortunately I've time to really learn how to use it . I'd enough of a shock this afternoon when I pressed the shutter button and it didn't work ......... I was in too close .

I need time with this , I realise that It's tempting to put it on and use it as a walk about for a while - but not while the weather is the way it is .

I look forward to trying it out on the big Rhodie once its blossom comes out .

Don't encourage her . She already has a severe attack of bba, without adding lba to the mix

Too right - I have problems

This 40mm was bought so I could be reasonably discreet taking pics of Daughter #2's wedding next year - but oh my - it's going to be well used by then .

I've got to do something about my bags - I still have not found the perfect solution - some are going to have to go.

The DA* 50-135mm is a bit of a beast, although a beauty of a beast. Suffering from LLBA* might be your particular affliction.

Congrats TI - the 40 is a lovely lens (sorry - baby)...

And you'll find it doesn't throw the dummy in the dirt either, it's well-tempered.
