first time with a 300mm DA*

Posted 09/09/2009 - 20:05 Link
I rented a 300mm DA* F4.0. My camera setting was 200 ISO Tv The shutter speed was at leat 1/1000's. The picture came out a bit washed, but I used a little PP (auto correct) It will be more difficult using it for football. Here is a link. I am not sure how to place pictures in a thread.

Your link doesn't work, it has 2 extra characters on the end.

To post the image here, place the correct url between [ img ] https://www.pentaxuser.com/images/gallery/2009/09/normal/take-off_1252522845.jpg [ / img ] (remove all spaces from between [ and ])

The easiest way to do this is to copy the url from the address bar, paste it in the comment box, highlight the entire url and hit the button marked 'Image' below the comment box.

The DA*300 is capable of much higher image quality. It really is a top lens. I am surprised that you could find one for hire - I didn't think anyone rented out Pentax lenses. Maybe it is a little tired.

Don't forget, he is in N. America - Canada, I believe. I have found that Pentax is available for hire out there.

Leo's in Vancouver is one ... http://www.leoscamera.com/Rental/ and there are probably more.

Looking at the large image here (https://www.pentaxuser.com/photo/take-off-10471/large) it looks like heat haze has taken the edge off the sharpness. Was it a hot day, or was there another plane taxiing past just out of shot?

there were other planes around, and yes, it was hot. I will be heading to the zoo this week-end with the 300mm and at my kids football matches as well.
