Lovely photos Spad, all best viewed large, and my favourite is the second, great colour reflections. Superb shots.

Always a pleasure to see your work Spad. Like other contributors here, it feels like you take us on your photographic journey - keep it up.
Sad to hear of your experience of losing your photographs. I'll never understand the destructive nature of other people. One (very small) hope is to keep the storage device that has been encrypted in case a decryption key posted on the wider t'Internet one day. I know, I know - this is very unlikely to happen, but fingers crossed.
Not wanting to state the obvious and, yes, the horse is well over the horizon, with the stable door now nailed shut etc, but looking ehead, backups are our friends here. Nothing elaborate: just simple file copies of our photographs, with a least one copy off line, i.e. not attached to a computer apart from when having new / updated photographs copied to it, and ideally, an offsite copy, either using a 'cloud' storage provider, or a storage device kept at a family house etc.
Keep it simple, stay positive, keep smiling

Nigel.
Getting older and grumpier. Taking longer to decide which lens to use today.
K5 with auto-everything lenses
A collection of manual primes to keep me in touch with the pleasures of doing it old-school.

Great shots - 1 and 3 are my favourites. The stars really show up when viewed large. These night shots give closure to your loss, now go out at sunrise to start a new dawn.

Do you know what comes across when I look at your images Spad?
It's the total enjoyment you get from your photography - the variety, the quality, the experimentation - it all adds up to some great contributions, please keep em coming

Luckily I had backed up all my personal photos, but sadly there was no way I was going to be able to recover all my work. So now starts the long haul of building up my work again!
I have bought a new 1tb SSD and this one with be kept off the netwrok. I will also be buying an external drive.
It started yesterday with a day out in the southern part of the Peak District National Park, that finished at 2am!
