The emphasis today is more on the "Amateur" than the "Photographer".
If there is a difference with JPEG files, it is simply that the default sharpening and saturation will be a little more aggressive, like the Canons.

Malcolm Riches: Amateur Photographer has just tested the *istDL and given it a good write-up.
My heart sank when I saw it was Angela doing the review. I think she's a bit harsh sometimes (which is a good thing). I'm very pleased she was pleased. She says it's currently Pentax's best DSLR! (she also reviewed the DS).Malcolm Riches: Amateur Photographer has just tested the *istDL and given it a good write-up.
'What Digital Camera' have also reviewed the DL and given it a good score (higher than the D50).

It says a lot about AP that they consider Pentax's worst DSLR to be its best.

One improvement over the D and DS is an opinion that the "image processing algorithms have been refined ..." to produce "images with clearer, sharper detail".
Would it be possible for Pentax to confirm this, and whether the improvement could be released as a firware upgrade for the D and DS models?
