Fine Focussing

I know this has probably been done before, but I cannot seem to be able to locate the topic.

Is there a concise version of how best to check and add AF fine focus correction (if required)on the forum?

I would be grateful for any pointers.

And.....how do you add correction for a zoom lens, say something like a 70-200?, do you need separate sets of figures for the 70mm end and another for the 200mm end? if so how do you do this, the manual isn't so clear on the subject.

Thanks

Andy

Principles are the same regardless of the model of camera.

I'm sure zooms are mentioned, but my reading on the subject indicates two schools of thought;

1 Set up your zoom lens for the most used focal length
2 Set up your zoom lens for the average of adjustments required at short, middle and longest focal lengths.

I've just calibrated the AF for my lenses after buying a K-5IIs . Simple to, just take a bunch of pictures of stuff in daylight at the widest aperture. I normally find an A4 sheet of print at a shallow angle is useful as you can focus on a particular line of text and more easily see and Front focus or back focus.

I'll then preview the pic in camera and magnify too see if the calibration is out and simply dial in an offset value in order to compensate.

I'll check at all kinds of focal distances, and if zooms at differetn focal lengths.

Once I'm happy I'll move onto the next lens.
