What Epson scanner is it?
I downloaded the software and driver FROM Epson's website.

I have used Vuescan for some years now to run my scanner, I first found it when running Windows and it worked. Now I run Linux and it still works perfectly, there are two versions one for Windows and one for Linux and it supports a huge number of scanners. It's not free but it may solve a problem for you if you cannot get it working any other way.

My old Minolta scanner works fine with Vuescan. It's worth the money if sometimes a little opaque how to get the best from it.
Mostly, these days, I use my pixl-latr and my K-3. Using the extra adaptor from Simon Forster and a can of compressed air, I can rattle through my old mounted slides quite quickly. I use my tablet as a light source (I'm planning to get something better), my old K50/4 macro with a small extension tube, all mounted on my Pentax copy-stand. Apart from the pixl-latr and the air, these were all things I had anyway.
If you want a laugh, have a look at the one star reviews for Christian Basler's "Lightbox" app on the playstore.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.
