Some high street developers will fob you off with low resolution, heavily compressed scans (thinking of Snappy Snaps here...)
Snappy-snaps scan example, 1545 x 1024
Snaps Photo Services example, 2075 x 3130

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Thanks - this looks like the sort of service and price he would be after. Sadly he is not even sure what is on these films. It will be a case of develop and see.

OK someone earlier said don't use ASDA....I use ASDA and get good results. You get two scans Hi Res and Lo Res...Hi Res are 1800 x 1200. At £2 per roll developing and 97p to scan to disc it's a bargain.

Wow, that's extremely cheap. Most of the places I've seen online charge 7 quid minimum. I don't suppose ASDA will process "real" B&W films though, just C41.
