Few from my 645n

I recently purchased a Pentax 645n (medium format film) and I've been on a course developing my own black and white negatives. It's all good fun. One thing I live about the 645n it's a big loud proper sounding camera (if that makes sense). Hopefully, weather permitting I'll be out and about to shoot some more film soon These were using Fuji Acros 100 black and white film. My next batch will be with Ilford Panf 50.

I'll be buying some Tri-x once my Acros and Ilford Panf are used up. Got 2 rolls of Acros and 10 rolls of Panf. Tri-x though is definitely next on my list of films to purchase. I've also got 8 rolls of Ektar and 10 rolls of Portra to try out sometime but really enjoying black and white at the moment

Don't forget they should keep for years in freezer.

Wonderful images there Howie, looks like the 645 is going to suit you. I like them all although the second and third ones are particularly sweet. Are you using a filter with these? You are getting some nice detail in the clouds. Pan F might be a bit slow this time of year (unless you're using a tripod).

You are making me wonder whether to spend my K5II budget on a 6x7 instead...

Best wishes, Kris.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Excellent shots. I have some Acros waiting to be tried out myself in my 645.

Womble, I think you should go for the 6x7, from what I've seen of your shooting, I think it would suit you. I'd love one myself, but they're too expensive.

Thanks Kris

Usually most of my landscapes are shot using a tripod so I'll probably be shooting some Panf 50 soon I used a cokin 1 or 2 stop nd grad. Someone also suggested using a yellow or orange filter so I'll give that a go next time as well

Funny enough my options were to buy a 645n, 6x7 or Nikon D600/D800 and I opted for the 645n. I did a lot of research and managed to get the 645n plus 45mm f2.8 fa and 80-160mm f4.5 fa for the money I'd saved.

I currently shoot with a Nikon D7000 but been looking for a cheapish Pentax dslr to buy and just in the process of picking up a K-30. Friend of mine uses a K-x and I swear the metering is better on the k-x than my d7000

Looking forward to seeing your acros shots I found with the scans at least they negatives were a little on the dull side but with a bit of editing they come out much better. Probably like any photograph really ha ha. I've also done a few in the dark room and once developed into a photograph using chemicals, they really look miles better.

An excellent example of B&W film usage. A refreshing change!

Best regards
