A fat spider lurking amongst the last of the tomato plants

Nice shot - it's harder than you realise to get these all in focus (I've been trying a lot over the past week!) - is it focus stacked?

They never stay still and pose for me and are always on the wrong side of the web Just jealous

I was half expecting a photo of Alan - but maybe that would have had to be labelled scary .

I did think about calling it Fatspider but changed my mind as I have not met Alan and might be doing him a disservice

This spider was moving around from time to time but also seemed to spend periods of time basically just sunbathing.

The real problem was the wind, which although very light was enough to move the spider and his web in and out of focus, particularly as I was using a 2 second delay, risking him being in focus at the start of the 2 seconds and completely out of focus, when the shutter actuated

Not focus stacked but I took a few at varying apertures.
