Falcon 9 launch

SpaceX launched an Argentine earth-observation satellite from Vandenberg AFB this evening.

While I watched through binos my wife took some hand-held pictures with her K-50 / Sigma 18-300.

The first stage separated and is on the right in these shots, which then returned to land at Vandenberg, while the second stage continued on to deploy the satellite.

What an interesting set of images! the second one looks like a creature from outer space diving down through our atmosphere...
