Anybody know if these are generally available and how much they run at? Prices on the web seem to be all over the place.

Any info would be gratefully received.

John.

Check out SRS I think they list this lens.

A few places still list them as available new but I'm not certain they really have them in stock. The prices are always high though. Second hand, I think you'd be looking at 250+.

Hi John

Yes, this is still available new... Although it's quite hard to find in the UK... It tends to have a fairly astonishing list price of £1200 ish... Amazon currently has it for £750 ish... Microglobe often claims to have it around the £300 mark, but when I tried to order it from them last year, they were very uncertain about delivery, and said it could be between 1-2 months... Ended up getting a vgc second hand copy via the US forum site... £220 ish all in... They do pop up every few months on the uk eBay site, along with the Samsung equivalent... Expect to pay anywhere around £220-230 for a vgc copy... A bit of a faff to track down, but well worth the effort... It's a cracking little lens, sharp wide open, and lovely rendering...

Best

I remember this lens being new a few short years ago for about £200, even the Samsung badged one for even less. I should have bought one then, as the prices for new ones are silly.

When it was still widely available new everyone on the forums complained that this lens lacked a special something, had bad bokeh and wasn't that good.

Now it's hard to find and everybody wants one...

I have the older "M" version and it's very nice, though wide open it's not the best.
