Exif/Properties

In a recent post (Trying out an old lens) I posted a picture which Layingback noticed the Exif details quoted "Shutter Priority" .
Checking the original file on my PC the Properties listed "Aperture Priority"

I'm confused as to why there should be this discrepancy

The photograph was taken with the green mode setting.
The Lens a Tamron SP 500mm manual focus mirror lens
Antishake set to 800 and the camera mounted on a tripod (I forgot that both are mutually exclusive)

I pulled it down to my desktop ( to try an image tweak in DarkTable ) and on my desktop (Ubuntu) it shows correctly as Aperature Priority.

So I guess it's a bug on this site's gallery software ...

So who do I report it to -JR? or is there an IT man somewhere?

It's a hard-to-find button at very, very bottom of page, 3rd entry in from left. I only know because JR directed me to it earlier this week.

I believe it's a long standing problem with some of the forum software. It's been reported previously but apparently the problem is not easy to resolve

It's already been reported a few times over recent months but it's a tough one to fix - it's on the list.

Is the software here still GPL2, or is it proprietary/non-distributable now due to customization?

I just looked at the posted image and for me it shows as Aperture Priority. I used right click and then 'view image exif data' in Firefox.

What method of viewing the exif data is giving Shutter Priority ?
My own website is www.richardgaddphotography.com

Also on 500px

Clicking on the pic in my gallery brings up the description and the Exif can be assessed. That's were the problem lies apparently.

Don't bother looking I've now deleted the file as it was only put in the gallery to enable me to transfer (I now know I can't do that) into a post.

I'll leave the software boys to do their thing

The Gallery shows Aperture Priority as Shutter Priority.

Not exactly ...

When I posted the issue to this thread Frogherder had not yet figured out how to add an image in the thread, so I was looking at his Gallery.

Frogherder seems to have deleted that image now. But if you look at his 1 image here you'll see an EXIF 'Click Here' link. Click and you'll see that it lists Exposure Program as Shutter priority. Odd seeing that that image does not have any EXIF data, as verified both by FF plugin and downloading and checking in Ubuntu/GNOME.

So simply setting the default value to Undefined would at least stop it showing incorrect data.

To clarify things a little here is a screen shot of the properties of the image as stored on my PC :-

As JR have confirmed and email discussion with the software team there is a gremlin in the works and whilst Layingback gets the same as I do that may be because he's using Linux.

The pic posted was cropped in Photoshop7 which may make some difference- I don't know.

The only oddity as far as I knew was that the focal length listed is what I set the anti-shake to and not the actual figure for the Manual lens.

That's the way it works for manual lenses. Indeed that's all the camera has to go on - which is why it has to ask you in the first place, if you see what I mean.
