Evening Shots

Went out tonight with the aim of getting a new level shot of St Mary's Church in Haddington. I entered the original in the competition a couple of weeks ago and it was noted that it was not level. Have since bought a level for the Flash Plate and it is helping.

Also took this one from on top of the bridge.

I have never tried flash on SLR's so have to go for long exposures. I do prefer no flash.

Both shots are very pleasing.

Excellent composition on No. 1.

No. 2 is a touch dark in the foreground.

That's better! But I can't see the interesting patterns in the water this time.

Have just had a look back at your competition entry, and I think I prefer the composition of that one (less sky, more reflection), and it's a bit brighter. How is it lit? Did you use flash on the bridge?

It's a lovely location, and one I'll have to visit next time I'm in the Lothians.

K-3, a macro lens and a DA*300mm...
