On flickr I've already commented on your first Goldcrest and made your Robin with flapping wings a favourite. They're fabulous.

While I'd be very pleased to have pics as sharp as all of these, I do think the flash is a tad overdone on some.

The nuthatch and treecreeper are gorgeous .... but the robin in #4 is spectacular !

These look good, but they get ruined by the forum software
compressing them to 800w.... which is the width that should
be posted not 1024w.

Awesome, as always, and I do appreciate that the robin's wings would be near-on impossible without it, but I'd love to see some more natural ones from you, taken without the beamer.

These are indeed awesome shots and ones that I cannot currently get anywhere near to with the equipment and skill that I have. I do tend to agree with Chris though - it would be great to see some without flash. The flash highlights details beautifully, but tends to make the birds look a bit 'flat' against the background.

Nice shots

Prior to reading the comments I was also 'commenting' to my other half on the use of flash - it seems excellent for detail and shutter speed as you would expect but the flash look seems to work on some and not others

It's not a criticism just my preference would be for a more natural look, however, they are probably better than anything I have taken

K10D, K5 plus plenty of clueless enthusiasm.

All of these with the exception of the Chiffchaff were taken in dark woods on a dark showery day so without a flash I would have ended up with nothing worth keeping/posting.
The amount of flash that I use varies depending on where the bird is so it's kind of a quick decision, sometimes I get it right, sometimes I don't
I am selling a lot of pictures so I figure they can't be that bad.
