as above any good for a3 pics?

This printer is good for A3 and if running on XP, a mate of mine sold his when he moved to Vista as it would not run correctly even with the Epson driver for vista.

It's an excellent printer.

a friend of mine has one of these and had some quality prints from it.But i like my canon ix4000 better

I have an Epson 1290S A3 Printer which I have used for a number of years.
It produces really good quality A3 prints. Even monochrome prints using just the black are of good quality. I have just replaced this printer with an Epson 3800, so that I can get a full range of monchrome tones with the grey inks.
With reference to Tels mates problem; I am running Windows Vista and have had no problems with the Epson 1290S, when using the correct driver, from Epson's web site. However, conflicts can arise if you install non Vista compatable software. Last week I installed an old version of Professor Franklins Instant Photo Artist, on my Vista Computer. This resulted in my Scanner and New Printer both malfunctioning. I removed Proffessor Franklins and everything was back to normal.

Must hold the record for the longest surviving Ink Jet printer ever made -I think it was only discontinued early last year! Mine continues to produce good prints after over 5 years!

How do you find it with monochome prints? I'm looking into getting something along those lines.

I am finding the Epson 3800 very pleasing with monochrome prints. I am still getting used to it, but it is printing neutral monos without changing to black and white mode. I was going to buy the Epson R2880 but the cartridges only hold 12ml of ink. The 3800 cartridges hold 80ml of ink. If you work out the cost of the inks, it made the 3800 a better buy.
