Comp is projected allrounder... 1st time I've entered... Nervous...

The tatto artist is the choice of these for me.

As I got to the end of the road a text came through... Meeting cancelled as judge unable to navigate through snow...

B***er. These are classy images.- particularly the first three. Tattoo artist is stunning, and I've seen and appreciated the first two before.

Well... Competition was tonight... I didn't come last... I came second to last...

Crit was solid but on the whole fair...
Thought all could be sharper in general...
Wanted the whole left-hand in the first... didn't like the blown windowframe...
Liked the second but wanted the twig out on the right sharper...
Thought the 3rd was too tight... Suggested I pull back... Not sharp enough
The 4th too busy (lights distracting) and thought the left of the leaf was a bit merged with the tree behind...

Next comp is print... Have bought boards and mounts not sure what to put in though... Very subjective as there were images shown that I thought were great that he didn't like and images that were dog that he seemed to love... Weird...

We have a man at our club who says "stuff the judge make images YOU like"

It seems to me club photography is a game with quite special characteristics and if you want to win then try and work out what's needed. But I agree with the other guy 'stuff the judges enter what pleases you' and hope you get a good response if not from the judge then other members. If those photos didn't do well then the other shots must have either played the judging system or be very good indeed.
