A lovely day at Emmets Gardens, pictures with either the 28mm 3.5, Irix 15mm or 50mm 1.4. Finding myself using old primes more and more often to counter the weight of the K1.

I often find photos of larger formal gardens quite cliched and predictable, your selection are simple and enjoyable

Cheers everyone. Appreciate the comments! It's a beautiful place; saved the day given the bluebellls where a bit past their 'prime;

Glorious images, great compositions and beautiful colours.

I think you should be proud of these.

Oh, and that K-1 really is a special camera.

All of them are just lovely - and beware the old glass - it grows on you!
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

I like the way you have got the strong sloping nature of the hillsides to come through, and yes this sort of environment is often difficult to 'make much of' .... but you have brought out lots of detail and depth, with plenty of angles and lines to follow. I'm less keen on those that show up the distortion rather extremely (4 & 6). The best for me are 1, 8 & 9.

You caught the gardens at a beautiful time with all the bluebells out!

Nice set with lovely colours! My fav is no.8

I am a sucker for old manual Pentax primes, especially Super/SMC Takumars. I've always knew they are good even by modern day standard but they just seem to really shine on my K1!
