A bit more info. Disabled late 40s, argh Mental health care worker. This may explain some of my images. LOL still getting used to the K10d. One GF and one son, 12yrs old. One almost empty bank balance.

Welcome, Stephen, from even further up North. I can relate to your winter pictures, no problem.
The real problem now is of course that darkness sets in, so the only time for outdoor photography is at midday-time weekends.
