Egg + stalk = approx. 6mm. high.





K5 100mm. D FA Macro, 42mm of extension tubes.
Diffused on-camera flash, handheld.

Thank you both for your kind comments,

I can't get my head around how thin the stalk is & how strong it must be, bearing in mind how it was flexing back & forth in the slight breeze there was at the time! The web says it's just hardened mucus!!
Once you see one, they're all over the place.....
