im not sure since new i have had the same lens on, so god knows how dust got in there, i was so quick to put lens on camera boby facing down in a bag, i hate the dust alert feature

The bits could be comming from inside the lens:

I had a nikon a few years ago getting bits on the sensor, took ages to find out why as I was only changing the lens now and then.

Had to send to Nikon as it was under warranty, they returned the D2h 3 weeks later fully cleaned with a letter asking me to send them my lenses for inspection, they found that my 70-200VR Lens was losing it's internal coating.( Only 16 months old)

They replaced the lens free of charge even though it was out of warranty, with seeing your sensor dust/bits I wondered::

You should perhaps try and send that pic to Pentax. It sure looks strange. Can you see the bits when looking on the sensor?

Thats why I said could be from the lens, not all bits are the same size or shape, and mostly bottom half of the senor.:

can see something but doesnt look that bad.

could be from the lens but also could be some (anomalous) wear debris. Difficult to judge without having a look inside the camera.

Note to self: Never let scotthehat handle your camera. Obviously he has a bad karma.

Have you tried selling the latter two to an art gallery?

Do you live somewhere near a nuclear plant?

Agree with you about the wear debris, and yes with out seeing it we can only sumise..

Looks like a post job to Pentax for the Camera to be checked out: or clean it yourself and keep a eye on it for a while.
