WARNING - read and interpret the instructions carefully in the readme.txt.
The section that reads
9. When update is completed, the "COMPLETE" will be displayed at the left bottom of the LCD monitor, and then turn the camera off.
I think should be interpreted as "the camera will turn off" - or perhaps "after the display reads complete, wait until the write light stops flashing"
I switched off when the screen displayed complete although the "write light" was flashing (and had been for over 2 minutes and I interpreted the flashing as telling me that it was complete ). The camera was then apparently "dead".
I had heart failure
Fortunately removing and refitting the batteries bought it back to life (with V2.00 in the firmware check) although eveythign had reset (frame counter ,date PAL/NTSC etc) - not the end of the world but still annoying.
It does seem to have updated correclty OK as it has defaulted to Auto ISO.
I hate updating firmware.

Hi,
Just about to buy a DS and was wondering if the firmware upgrade had any effect on the reported "soft" images taken by the DS in comparison to the DL?
Cheers,
Peter

G'day.
I've been running a DS with old firmware and the new 2.00.
Lenses used have been DA 18-55 and a Tamron 28-105.
Both lenses produce images so sharp that they would cut you open
camera set to P or Av most of the time.
Images only run thru Picasa 2 for levels.
Hooroo.
Regards, Trevor.

Version 2 installed without a hitch and provides the additional facilities including continuous auto focus and auto ISO.
Just need to be able to get out and try it now!
