Dragonfly in flight

This was taken after the sun had disappeared behind some cloud and at ISO 1600. Had to applly some noise reduction and sharpening in PP but you got to love the K-5!

Wow, you captured it well! Heck, I don't think I've seen a dragonfly near where I am all this year!

I think that is brilliant Neil. Especially when about 10 of us had spent the day at Foxcorvert and found it difficult even to catch them stationary.

Great shot Neil, wing action just right.

Have not seen a dragon fly, around here for the last couple of years, and we do have a pond in the back garden. Many frogs though, maybe they eat fly larvae ?.

Great shot, even more so knowing how difficult they can be to capture in flight. I've tried but given up due to the sudden direction changes.

I did manage to find a great place for dragonflies while up in Norfolk for a couple of weeks and managed to get some great close-up images. It's already on the list for a return visit next year for more shots. Dersingham Bog if anyone is interested - it's a great place for a walk even if the dragonflies are not about.

Good capture, but it would have been better if there aren't any motion with the wings.
